Just stuck a couple of the specular texture map comparison images up
I'll try and take more images soon :)
Also I feel as though I should point out the textures are from a JDoom texture pack
The specular maps are more custom made and the Bump maps are generated and tweaked

I've been getting some work done the past couple of days now :)
And I've uploaded 2 new screen shots, Works coming along well
And all being well i'll get a good bit more done on it tomorrow (well today since it's 00:41)
Just a quick update, Development has stopped for the past 2days
This is because I've got a new R9 290
I still have my HD6950 which I can switch to from time to time
Till I get a Active DVI-D to VGA or HDMI VGA or DP to VGA lol
I need to use my CRT for the level editor the grid will not display correct on my LG TV (My main screen)
Won't be long though :)

I recorded a alternate version of the Main Menu Theme which is heard during one of the last fights for anyone looking to hear it
I've also shared a copy of the lossless recording I made on file factory

The Creative Sound Blaster Zx doesn't actually allow you to record what you hear at 96Khz
Even though my old X-Fi Xtreme Gamer did

The Lossless quality file is pretty only for people with really good speakers, You'll not hear the difference with cheap speakers or headphones
I've been in contact with Brent (Matt) I'll not say to much about what is going on but Doom Reborn is getting a new site
The Domain isn't final yet so I can't share it yet, but we're looking to get a forum up and going again

Technically the forum is already going,
but it's not, The site is just being tested at the moment through another site
Downloads will remain through ModDB but will obvisouly be shared through the site as well
I'd like to share more on this, but I shouldn't
I expect the site to be up fairly shortly
So the site is up and going again.
Apperently the test versions where flagged during a routine virus scan...
Dought that myself, I provided them links to AVG and Symantec Norton
Where they can report suspected infected files
I also pointed out that ModDB run tests on the files before even making them public,
Anyway about the progress of the mod
I've been working alot lately, Got 3 Versions of E1M6 now for Alpha Version 0.84
i've reworked the map, I've Taken everything out of 1.Map file and put it into a new .Map file
This should coreect any problems from the enity limit I hit last time.
The 3 Versions are Low Medium High
Medium will be included in 0.84 as standard. Low and High can be used by choice
Low will have no Partical effects and no bubble sounds from the Acid in the level
Medium will have effects and sounds but no extra Light effects
High will have everything except extra light effects in the Maze because i'll hit the limit again
Which will cause the chucky feeling during frame drops
Due to the shape of the Map I can't really sort out the pre-load,
A slightly reduced distance pre load would work better
This is something i'll have to look further into another time.
Alpha Version 0.84 is pretty much ready
But i'll be doing more testing and quick changes before release
But I will be putting it out before 20th May.
Because I need a quick break to fully enjoy Wolfenstein The New Order :P

When I get Alpha Version 0.83 released I'll take down all Test Versions of E1M6 and E1M5
To make space for future Test Versions of E1M7

The level is fully playable, I was hoping to get this released a couple of days ago
but I didn't end up with as much free time as I was expecting to have
In alpha version 0.83 I will be making a few more tweaks to lights, monsters and performance.

The holidays are over and i'm back to work and just recovering from the cold.

Webs.com told me my web space limit had been reached even though it said I had 2MB left
I had to delete Test Versions 1&2 Sorry
All monsters are in this version some can't be seen till triggered but the rest will come for you pretty much from the start
So... Enjoy :)
I've listed my system specs in the read me to give you guide on what the recommended requirements
for Ultra Quality are
Again this version will be hard on you computer no matter what since the level is not finished.
There is still performance tweaks to be added when the level is finished

Just because it was Doom's 20th Anniversary yesterday I decided I needed to get another small test release out tonight to honour that
It's a shame I couldn't get more done since i'm now working two jobs.
But I did check a couple things in quickly to keep things interesting

I had to remove the lights in the maze because last night when I was ready to make a release I had hit a limit and got a error "No Free Enities"
But all bad things work out for the best,
I've sorted some more lights and doors around the place.

For the past couple of days I've been reinstalling windows and backing up my old hard drives.
It took up more time than it should've, but at least most of it is behind me now,
This version will be hard on performance I haven't had the time to tweak everything yet.
I've added alot of the lights but I've still alot more to do, The maze I may tweak slightly due to the light texture being
one of the odd ones we had, It's always bright even with no lights in the room
(with no lights you shouldn't see anything But the texture will be clear as day)

Pretty Much The whole map is viewable
But certain parts aren't lit, so don't get lost
A lot of the lights have just been copied and over sized for times sake
But it will be changed tomorrow as I go through each room one at a time
There could be a few Test Versions tomorrow as the level reaches it's final stages
Older Test Versions of E1M5 have been taken down from webs.com to make space for these newer versions
There is still filefactoy links I believe
But if you want to view them if you haven't already
download them now
Because I may have to take them down tomorrow
I have back ups for myself which I may make into a pack to put on file factory

Rage Project Concept: Released
I only put this together quickly to Show rather than try and explain. This will be my project after I finish Doom Reborn
But I will have a Rage Version released shortly (Alpha 0.01)
Keep an eye out for that in the near future
To play load the Doom Reborn Mod as normal and play from the start of Doom1 after you complete E1M1 you'll see it

This will be training for me, But hopefully my idea comes together.
What I've done with E1M8 already plays a small part of my intensions of what I hope to be able to achieve with the idTech5 Engine. (Without giving to much away)
It will be a remake of the first episode of Doom1 still. Not exactly like doom1 which Doom Reborn aims to be

Got all monsters triggerd besides for the ones on the lift in the yellow room that I forgot about. Will probably fine tune the triggering after play testing it a few times myself lol
I'm aware the lift on the right in the yellow room isn't working it's a simple fix I've been meaning to sort out for to long now but I keep over looking because i'm focusing on other things that need done lol
I'll be doing a final level release in a couple of days before I do the next alpha release. I'll probably call it a beta beacuse i'll have time to make fixes if I/yous find any.

Rage Tool Kit is now on steam
I Intend on looking into it, I have mine downloaded now but fails to load for the time being, Tomb Raider has also been released which im sure you's all
know so I was playing through it as well this month,
Work has not stopped, It was my birthday this month so I took some time off for that, And im also sick with the cold atm,
Im Finishing off the outside secret area and then placing the EasterEgg room somewhere, then i'll be ready to start patching the other levels.
With Alpha 0.82 I will be improving the lights in all levels.
Im sick of random shadows in all the other levels.
Also i may include the High Quality Mod's i'm using on my computer, I have a improved shaders mod up ress textures and smooth models
The shaders mod works with Doom Reborn and i believe other tweaks from the other mods have some effect on Doom Reborn as well.
So you's may want to look into them yourselfs.
I'll probably make 2 downloads. 1 With the other mods to install, And the other just Doom Reborn.
I'll also be releasing another Test version of E1M5 before 0.82
Alpha 0.82 is nearly ready
E1M5 is now around 80% finished just finishing off the last of the layout then just finish tweaking lights and adding monsters, items etc, which wont take to long, I'll will have another play test version up shortly for everyone to try.

Work is still underway
I'm working a part time job now and getting ready to move which has slowed me down a bit,
But I've still been working hard on E1M5 I have a new screen shot showing what's been done
Alpha 0.815 is near ready. It'll include a test build of E1M5, i'm trying to get the layout complete before 0.81 goes offline
0.815 will have a few small fixes in a few levels e.g MAP01 Chacater placements at the start of the level don't match exactly to the orginal level shot shown in the loading screen. + MAP03 now has the missing hole in the wall at the start of the level etc.

IMPORTANT: Ensure you have Doom 3 Version 1.3.1 installed. The update button in Doom 3 on the main menu will not get you this version. You can download it Here (MegaGames)
If you tried to load the mod on version 1.3 the gamex86.dll has probably been replaced with version 1.3's
Install version 1.3.1, go to the "Doom 3" folder and open the "base" folder and copy "gamex86.dll" and replace the one in the "doomreborn" folder. And right click the new "gamex86.dll" and click properties and tick "Read Only" and click apply This will solve many issues e.g health villas and armor shards not working or not going above 100health
There is No support for BFG Edition yet maybe in the future.
I will need to remove write protection on "Fs_Game" or by Adding a selection for Doom Reborn on the title screen. But before I can do that I need a way to extract and repack the .resources files betheseda has so kindly packed everything in. (sarcasm)
I've taken this upon myself to finish the mod, I left the team back in 2007-08 to finish tech work and when i returned to help the team out again it was dead and everyone left to do other things since we do have lives to.
Development takes a long time, im using the mod for practice again for Rage's upcoming editor that we where promised, id let us down on rage's release but it'll come (hopefully)
With Doom3 BFG edition coming I intend on making sure this mod will be compatable as long as id haven't locked the editor and mod compatablity if they have i'll be growing ever more concerned about id's future since the time it would take to lock all of its old features just to ensure we can't mod it. Also because Brink, and Rage, Where promised to be released with the idtech 5 editor on launch. But that never happened.
I did open the rage.exe with resource hacker and found the editor but i don't have the skill to make it usable i just know its there. You can check for yourself.
